Types Of Tubal Ligation Procedures
Tubal ligation is a procedure that is used to keep women from having anymore children. It is such a major operation that is both difficult and expensive to reverse. Making the final decision to go through with it should take some time. Once you have you need to explore the various options you have and the different ways it can be done.
Abdominal Larascopic
The abdominal laparoscopic tubal ligation is one of the more common methods that is used during this operation. During the operation the doctor will make two or three incisions in the abdomen. This will help the medical instruments to gain quick access to the fallopian tubes. When the doctor has the tubes he will either cauterize them or seal them closed with a plastic clip.
After Vaginal Labor
For some women making the decision that they do not want to have anymore children will take a few months. For others they will know immediately and will do what they can to have it done as soon as possible. If they are pregnant they will ask their doctor to perform the tubal ligation after they have given birth.
After the woman has finished with vaginal childbirth the doctor will make one small incision close to the naval or on the inside of the vagina. They will than seal or cauterize the tubes.
After Cesarean Birth
It is also possible to have the procedure done after a cesarean birth or c-section. The doctor will seal the tubes off after they have pulled the baby out and than will seal up their abdomen.
