Tubal Ligation Reversal Complications
If a woman wants a tubal ligation reversal it is because they either want more children or they are suffering from post tubal ligation syndrome. The reversal operation is more intensive than the original and can cost a great deal more. The doctors must find a way to reattach the fallopian tubes.
Tubal Reversal Candidate
Before the doctor can begin the procedure they have to take a few tests and make sure that the woman is a candidate. During the assessment the fertility specialist must examine the current health of the fallopian tubes through a procedure known as laparoscopy. They will also need to examine the surgery and pathology reports from the original procedure.
- While looking at this information they will consider how the tubal ligation was performed. They need to know if the fallopian tubes were tied, cut, blocked, or cauterized.
- They need to know what part of the fallopian tubes was sterilized and how much was left behind.
- They need to know if your fallopian tubes are healthy and if you are too old to have the procedure done.
