Pregnancy After The Surgery

The majority of women who have had a tubal ligation reversal surgery did it so that they would once again be given the chance to have children. It may be that they decided that one or two was not enough or that they remarried and wanted to have children with this new husband. No matter what the reason is they will do everything in their power to make sure that the procedure was not in vain.

During the procedure the surgeon will reconnect the severed ends of the fallopian tubes allowing the sperm from the man the opportunity to once again reach the woman’s uterus and fertilize the eggs. The success rate for the procedure is not definite and will vary depending on how old the woman is and how well the procedure went.

It is possible that the fallopian tubes were damaged during the initial tubal ligation surgery and reconnecting them will not help. It could also mean that the woman simply requires a little bit of assistance in order to get pregnant. This assistance will come in the form of a type of fertility treatment.

IVF

IVF is the most common treatment that is available to women unable to get pregnant. During this process the woman’s eggs are removed from her body and fertilized with the man’s sperm outside of her body. When they have fertilized the doctor will place it inside of her uterus. This will skip over the process of every having to use the fallopian tubes.

Infertility Medication

If you want to help improve the success of the IVF process or with to try something less expensive than you should consider taking infertility medications. These are made to stimulate the woman’s ovaries in the hopes of increasing the amount of eggs that are harvested. This will help to increase your chances for success.

Ovulation

If you are having problems ovulating or are not producing enough eggs when you do then you will need some assistance. There medications that can be injected into your hop which will help to trigger the ovulation. Have a fertility clinic monitor the amount of mature eggs that will grow for each ovary.
